new website!

So I finally got the website up and running! Hurray! Pretty pleased with how it has turned out so please do take a look! It's right HERE.

In other news, I've been doing a wee bit of drawing for the first time in months which has been nice. Also need to start getting paperworky things sorted and organised before I move house/studio to make it less stressful after moving from a top floor flat into another top floor flat. Eek! Looking forward to having a bit of a clear out though and making a nice new work-space. Only two weeks to go!

Oh, and I have now put all of the greetings cards in the shop too! Little packs of tiny a7-sized cards to follow next week...

a little off-topic

So instead of doing my website, I've been finding other things to do... Yesterday I went to visit one of my lovely stockists, Isa May in Portobello. I ended up staying for about 3 hours... then went for a little stroll along Portobello beach. I love watching the sea. Anyway, it's always good to have a chat about businessy things (and other things...) with Laura (who owns Isa May) and I've got lots of ideas, as always, about where to take Paper Aeroplane. It's just working out how to get there that's most difficult, and having the patience and persistence to then make it really work.

In other completely unrelated news, I was excited for the return of The Great British Bake Off! Since the last few months have been so crazy work-wise, I didn't have the time or energy for cooking. But, watching the Bake Off has reminded me how much I love cooking and baking... So this morning I got up early to make these cinnamon buns. They're delicious, even if I do say so myself.

Right. Better start this website...

August

Goodness, I have become a terrible blog-writer! I guess things like Facebook and Twitter make it easier to post really quick updates which make the things I put in my blog posts old news. Anyway... I can't quite believe it's August already! I've kinda been taking it easy over the last few weeks - after I came back from the trade show (pictured above) I realised how much work I had been doing and thought I need to take a step back and try to relax a little! But, in the last few weeks I've gained some wonderful stockists, and Paper Aeroplane cards are now available south of the border, in Room No. 9 in Leighton Buzzard and The Whitby Bookshop (in Whitby, obviously). Closer to home (in Edinburgh), Cloudberry Gifts and The Red Door Gallery now stock Paper Aeroplane products too! So, besides making more cards & prints, finishing a couple of commissions and finally sorting out the website, I need to plan my next move.... which will be geared more towards bespoke stationery I think.

In other news, I'll be moving house at the end of September, and therefore moving studio too! I totally love moving house and can't wait to get everything organised (and buy some more new mugs and glasses that I don't need) and to get a much bigger studio space in the corner of my new bedroom.... Although not looking forward to moving from a top floor flat to another top floor flat... It'll be FIIIINE!
